Psyche, [1805 or later].

Manuscript, in at least two hands, of an allegorical poem concerning the relationship of Cupid and Psyche. After disobeying her husband at the encouragement of her jealous sisters, Psyche undergoes a journey during which she encounters a number of virtues and vices either personified or typified by islands and palaces, including Flattery, Sympathy, Spleen, Credulity, Constancy, Chastity, and Patience. Having at last learned her true character, she is reconciled to her husband.
